Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Prescott, Arizona, Merit Engineering & Equipment Co. designs and manufactures innovative, dependable, and user-friendly saws for the professional concrete cutter. All Merit saws are handcrafted and made to order from high-quality materials that are machined and assembled in the USA and distributed globally. Blount International, Inc. has acquired Merit Engineering and Equipment Company. Blount is a global manufacturer and marketer of replacement parts, equipment, and accessories for consumers and professionals operating primarily in two market segments: Forestry, Lawn, and Garden (“FLAG”); and Farm, Ranch, and Agriculture (“FRAG”). Blount also sells products in the construction markets and is the market leader in manufacturing saw chain and guide bars for chain saws. Blount has a global manufacturing and distribution footprint and sells its products in more than 110 countries around the world. Blount markets its products primarily under the OREGON®, Carlton®, Woods®, SpeeCo®, ICS® and Pentruder® brands.

Problem: Yearly catalog was not following updated art direction.

Solution: Creation of new design language across the new catalog issue.

Target Audience: Current and potential new businesses globally who are interested in commercial high-end construction products.

Deliverables: Catalog with updated imagery and designs.

My Role: Creative directed new design language across the new catalog issue.

Problem: Secondary logos needed for new sub brands for financial and shipping programs.

Solution: New logo variations for different brand needs.

Target Audience: Financial and express interested consumers.

Deliverables: Secondary logos. email signature advertisements, website banner advertisements, and gifs.

My Role: Creative direction and designed both new logos for subsidiary brands.

About these Magazine Advertisements

Problem: In need of advertising for brand broader brand awareness.

Solution: Advertising with target audience in mind.

Target Audience: Locally used Merit equipment in the east coast, new and potential new business consumers, Tier 4 standard & World of Concrete consumers (yearly Las Vegas trade show).

Deliverables: Magazine advertisement featured in Concrete Openings the official magazine for (CSDA) California Special Districts Association.

My Role: Creative direction and design aesthetic.
